Industrial Collaboration and Technology Transfer

The Wisconsin Plasma Processing and Technology Research Consortium (WISPP) is the vehicle through which participating institutions interact with the Engineering Research Center. The ERC is dedicated to working on research issues of concern to its industrial partners and U.S. industry. Therefore, participation in the ERC allows member companies to: 1) partake in the ERC's policy setting and research activities; 2) hold membership on the technical advisory boards of the ERC's research areas; and 3) receive up-to-date information on the ERC's research activities via reports, newsletters, meetings, videotaped seminars and on-site visits. Furthermore, industrial researchers can spend sabbatical time in campus laboratories and classrooms as well as invite ERC faculty, staff and students to conduct research at their industrial sites. In addition, the resources of the ERC are available for special collaborative projects which meet the specific needs of the industrial partner.

The Associate Director for Industrial Interaction is Prof. Joachim Heberlein ( jvrh@me.umn.edu ).
